GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) is a neurotransmitter found in various foods such as leafy vegetables, soy and broad beans, nuts, seeds, tomatoes and eggs. In addition, the body can make GABA itself from the amino acid glutamine. Glutamine is mainly found in protein-rich foods such as meat, fish, dairy products, eggs, soy and other legumes but also in spinach, cabbage, Brussels sprouts and beetroot.
Proteins from your diet are converted into glutamine, among others, which is then used to form GABA. This conversion requires cofactors such as vitamins and minerals. Vitamin B1 is one of the most important cofactors for this conversion. That is why the formula contains 1.5 mg of vitamin B1.
